These terms cover your use of the Bound & Byte app and website ("Bound & Byte," "we," "us"). By using Bound & Byte, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Using Bound & Byte

Bound & Byte helps you catalog the books and digital reads you own or want. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You need to be at least 13 years old to use it.

Your account

Signing in with Google is optional and is used to sync and share your library. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Google account secure. You can delete your account at any time; see Delete my account.

Your content

Your library, notes, reviews and photos belong to you. You give us permission to store, sync and display them only as needed to run the features you use, such as syncing between your devices or showing your shared library to the people you give your share code to. Don't add anything you don't have the right to share, and don't put sensitive personal information in notes.

Sharing and recommendations

When you share your library or send a recommendation, you choose who sees it. Don't use these features to send spam or anything harassing, illegal or hurtful. We may turn off sharing for accounts that misuse it.

Book information

Titles, covers, summaries, series numbers and release dates come from public sources, including Google Books, Open Library and Apple. They can be incomplete, wrong or change without notice. Covers and summaries belong to their publishers and creators and are shown to help you recognize your books.

Plans and purchases

The Free plan is free. Plus is a paid plan sold through Google Play, either monthly or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

• Monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel in Google Play. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
• Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play before you buy.
• Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms and refund policy.
• If your plan ends, nothing you've added is deleted. Anything over the Free plan's limit is kept safe and comes back when you upgrade again.

Changes and availability

We're always improving Bound & Byte, so features may change, be added or be removed. We'll try to give notice of big changes. We may stop offering the app; if that happens, we'll give you time to back up your library.

Backups

Your library lives mainly on your device. Keep your own backups using Me → Back up and restore. We aren't responsible for data lost when a device is lost, reset or damaged.

No warranty

Bound & Byte is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Bound & Byte. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending use

You can stop using Bound & Byte at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership of your content and the limits above, continue after that.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Bound & Byte after a change means you accept the new terms.
